Annual Report 2023 & Bondholder Interest Payment

The Directors of Gawcott Fields Community Solar Project CIC (“Gawcott Solar CIC”) are pleased to present our annual report to bondholders.

Our community solar array continues to perform well, although irradiance in 2023 was slightly lower than the forecast long-term average. Despite a 5.5% decrease in sunshine irradiance, the solar generation only fell short by 1.7% over the same period. Annual irradiance variations of up to 8% on either side of the forecast long-term average are typical and have been considered in our cash flow planning.

The Bee Green Grant Fund continues to support local community-led energy and environmental projects with small grants. With funding from Gawcott Solar, Buckingham’s Cricket and Rugby Clubs and now solar powered, with the Golf and Football Clubs to follow. We also funded site visits and workshops in collaboration with Earth Energy Education, focused on recycling, ocean plastic, and renewable energy for local schools.

This year, Gawcott Solar also launched our ‘Solar Soft Loan’ Scheme to fund solar PV and other energy saving measures for local schools and community buildings. Repayment is directly linked to actual cost savings, creating a revolving soft loan fund. Ecologically, efforts were made to enhance biodiversity, including seeding wildflower meadows and plans for unmanaged land to benefit local wildlife.

Bond interest payment

The first bond interest payment on the new bonds was made in September 2023 along with the first instalment of capital repayment into Ethex’s wallet system and bondholders should have received a notification email from our registrars Ethex explaining how to log into your Ethex account and transfer the payment to your bank account.
