The Sports Community Fund
Our community grant fund has launched, and a theme of sports has been set for the first year!
We’re looking to fund projects or initiatives which improve access to, encourage participation in and/or improve the quality of sports in the local community with a view to promoting health and well-being.
The fund totals £15,000 per year, with £10,000 generated from the income of the Gawcott Fields Community Solar Farm, and £5,000 match funded by Heart of Bucks (who are managing the fund). Grants awards are expected to lie within the £500 region, although provisions have also been made for two larger awards (up to £5,000).
Who Can Apply?
The sort of projects the sports fund looks to support include:
• reducing energy cost and carbon emissions for local sports facilities
• new equipment, kits, repairs and upgrades to facilities
• new space for sports
• access to coaching
• trips and activities that will help your club to grow
• other great ideas that we haven’t thought of!
The fund is open to initiatives located within 5km of our project, as shown in the map below.
How to Apply
Visit the Heart of Bucks website to submit an “expression of interest” form as soon as possible. A member of the grants team will contact you with a full application form if your project is suitable for the fund. The deadline for full applications is the 27th June 2018.
